A Study on the Development of an Evaluation Tool for Augmentative and Alternative Communication Intervention for People with Severe Cerebral Palsy

Abstract
The purpose of this study was the development of an evaluation tool in order to provide appropriate AAC intervention through the individualized evaluation for people with severe cerebral palsy. The research method used for this study were as follow: First, Korean participation model was developed by modifying American participation model. Second, the evaluation tool which was based on the Korean participation model consisted of client information, list of participation activity, physical ability, cognitive ability, and communication ability. Third, the evaluation tool was used for the assessment of three subjects with severe cerebral palsy. As a result of single-subject research design, the most appropriate AAC interventions have been provided to subjects by comparing phases within each intervention.
